Community Gateway Page Redesign

Customer feedback stated members found the Weight Watchers Community Gateway page too cluttered to seek information. It was difficult to determine the latest community content and users felt items displayed were not relevant to them.

My Role
As the UX lead, I oversaw the strategy, design, development and usability testing of the gateway page.  We removed the clutter and included a task-based challenge for new members, a newsfeed that organized users’ community content, and a feature for users to post questions and get answers from fellow members.

As a result, the redesign improved user interaction and was determined successful. The new features drove engagement, fostered a sense of support and kept the content current. Very early statistics from the first month of the US launch were encouraging.  Within the first few weeks, the new member challenge had over 1400 participants and users posted an averaged of 100 questions per day.
